Featuring a narrower width (17 to 20), the ROCKET SUP DW PRO is for those seeking maximum performance on their downwind adventures. Available in seven sizes with volumes ranging from 90L to 140 L, this board offers exceptional glide and amazing performance on smaller and faster foils.
While its new shape mirrors that of the latest ROCKET SUP DW, the PRO version is narrower, hence sacrificing a bit of accessibility for enhanced speed and glide, making it the ideal choice for experienced downwind riders.
These boards are very stable thanks to their ideal volume distribution, parallel outline and very boxy rails in the central part. In turn, they have a lot more glide, making them much easier to paddle and take-off with. With a slightly revised nose and bottom, the ROCKET SUP DW PRO is more tolerant during the take-off phase as well.
A large kick at the tail lets the rider pump the board without plunging the tail in the water at every pump. A second small step on the hull was added closer to the tail, on top of the one already present in front of the twin tracks. These two steps effectively reduce drag during take-off accelerations and touchdowns. The second step helps create a clean break to channel the water flow at the back without generating excessive drag when in motion. It will also limit the speed drop on occasional touchdowns.
Once on the foil, the ROCKET SUP DW PRO is extremely intuitive, stable and comfortable thanks to an ease to pump and turn. The subtle, recessed cockpit-like deck is now a bit more pronounced, packing a bit more volume in the front and back, and bringing you closer to the foil, leading to excellent control of the board in-flight.
Comparatively, the ROCKET SUP DW PRO is ideal for short to medium period bumps (like in the Mediterranean), while the ROCKET SUP DW COMP will take-off better in longer period swells (like in Oahu) that are faster and require a longer and even narrower board.
This board is also incredible with a wing in lighter winds, and it can surf really well, even in very small waves. Take off far outside on non-breaking waves and make the most of the boards maneuverability and direct feeling to surf until the shore break.
The ROCKET SUP DW PRO is available in two constructions: bamboo or carbon. This model benefits from a HD Foam Carbon Composite construction. This light and stiff construction increases the boards maneuverability and results in an even more direct feel of the foil. Control is absolute throughout the entire downwind, even at high speeds.
Naturally, the carbon version is stiffer than its bamboo counterpart, particularly when pumping, but the performance potential on the water is close as both boards have the same shape and program.
A double rail saver as well as a reinforced construction along the rails and near the cockpit, protect the board from impacts and paddle hits.
The perfect balance between superb glide, stability, easy starts, and flying comfort, the ROCKET SUP DW PRO will undoubtedly be your new favorite toy, whether its in flat waters, big open ocean bumps, or light wind wing sessions.
* Downwinding requires physical preparation, proper security devices (ie. leash, flashlight, safety vest), and assistance at sea. Please do not attempt any downwinders alone nor without proper training.
